Helping adults in treatment feel supported during difficult moments.
About
Raising money for adult chemo patients and their caregivers in order to ensure comfort during their most difficult moments.
Why GPM Exists
Cancer is a disease that affects not only the patient, but also their loved ones and caregivers. Chemotherapy is a common treatment for many types of cancer, but it can be a difficult and draining process for adult patients and their caregivers.
Gene Potts Memorial raises money for adult chemo patients and their caregivers to help ensure comfort during their most difficult moments.
What GPM Does
Helping adults in treatment feel supported during difficult moments.
Recognizing the strain carried by loved ones and caregivers.
Turning cookoffs, fundraisers, and local participation into support.
Continuing Geno's love of cooking through steak cookoffs and Get Kids Cooking.
Treatment and Need
Chemotherapy uses drugs to destroy cancer cells. It is a common treatment for many types of cancer, including breast cancer, lung cancer, and colon cancer. Patients may experience side effects such as nausea, fatigue, and hair loss, while caregivers may experience emotional and financial strain.
Funds can help provide comfort items such as wigs, blankets, and pillows, as well as support services such as counseling and transportation to and from appointments. Funds can also help provide caregivers with support services such as counseling and respite care.
Gene Potts Memorial raises support through community events, fundraising, local business partnerships, grants, donations, and sponsorships.
